A notification step is a simple yet powerful way to keep the right people informed at the right time. Once the approval workflow reaches a notification step, Mesh automatically alerts the selected recipients, ensuring seamless communication and reducing bottlenecks.Â
Popular use cases include:
- Notifying Finance when a trip or expense is approved.
- Keeping FP&A updated on high-value transactions.
- Informing team leads of key status changes.
Follow the below to add a notification step:
1. Log into the Mesh platfrom an Admin.
2. Navigate to Company Settings → Approval Workflows → Approval settingsÂ
3. Select a workflow (New or Edit) and click the Edit button.Â
Note: The capability to add a notification works for all workflows.Â
4. Click a + icon to add a step.
Note: Notification steps can be added anywhere except at the top of the approval flow.
5. You'll be presented with the option to add Approvers or a Notification. Select Notification. Â
6. You can choose to notify any Mesh role, individual employee, or group using the same intuitive interface used for approval steps. It can be an Always or a Conditional step.Â
Â
7. After you configure the role and when the notification is presented click Add.Â
8. Add as many notifications as needed and click Publish. Â
The screenshot below depicts a notification step that will send a message to a user named Norm Klein after a Mesh Admin/Pro approved the request, in step # 1, and given it was above $1,500.Â
Note: The notified user gets an email and does not need to take any action.Â
