What is it?
The Mesh Corporate Card is a virtual payment solution tailored for executives who value reliability, ease of use, and efficiency. Designed to minimize friction and maximize convenience, it allows seamless management of local business purchases and travel expenses, eliminating the need to switch between payment methods.
How to enable it?
Log into the Mesh platform as an Admin. Under 'Company Settings', find the 'Cards & Budgets' section and toggle the 'Corporate Card' option.
How to request or issue a Corporate card?
Users with an 'Employee' profile can request a Corporate card, and users with an 'Admin' profile can issue one.Â
The request form for a Corporate card is similar to a General Purpose card. You can assign it to a user with a start and end date, set card limits (we recommend a monthly replenishment schedule), MCC restrictions, and apply a spend category.Â
Note: The Corporate Card supports transaction approval, and we recommend using this feature to monitor spending anomalies.Â
Â
How to use it?Â
Add your Corporate card to your preferred digital wallet and/or pair it with your Plug & Pay card to use on the go. You may also use the virtual card's information when purchasing online. Remember, when you transact during a trip, the card's transactions will be assigned to your trip automatically.Â
Anything else I need to know about it?Â
- Mesh recommends creating a single Corporate card for each relevant executive.Â
- The Mesh platform also includes a Multi-trip traveler card option. This card should be created for frequent travelers who are not necessarily executives. It is available during trips and is connected to the trip budgets that the Travel Manager creates for the traveler.Â
- Any existing General Purpose (GP) card can be turned into a Corporate Card, and it is possible to convert any existing Corporate Card back into a GP.
- It is possible to filter by card type when searching for cards or transactions.Â
- The cardholder has no 'benefits' (e.g., membership points or other rewards). Mesh rewards the organization in the form of Cashback.
- Since transaction assignment occurs only when the trip status is "In Progress," Corporate card users or their personal assistants must manually assign transactions to the trip if they pay for expenses that need to be booked before the trip begins, such as flights.
- For a transaction to be approved, the card's limitations must be met before consuming the relevant trip budget. If the card lacks sufficient funds, the transaction will be declined. If the transaction is approved but exceeds the trip's budget, it will be flagged as out-of-policy.
- If an executive has a Mesh Corporate Card but is mistakenly assigned a separate card for a trip by an Admin or Travel Manager, they should still be able to use the corporate card as instructed before and during the trip without issues.
- Travel expenses incurred during an active trip (i.e., a Trip with a budget in the "In Progress" status) are automatically assigned and linked to the Trip report, eliminating the need for manual intervention. Additionally, spend categories are automatically applied for tagging and context, ensuring that relevant trip budgets are accurately allocated and utilized.
