Mesh has developed a new feature called 'Policy', designed to add significant value to customers. It is located under each Spend Category.
The feature applies to all non-travel Spend Categories. The Policy is excluded from Travel-related Spend Categories (e.g., flights, accommodation, per diem, etc.) as those are governed by dedicated Travel policies.Â
The policy provides a tool that can reinforce good spending behavior and flag anomalies (i.e., out-of-policy). This feature works in conjunction with the Mesh transaction post-approval mechanism.Â
Administrators can enable the policy and specify its limitations and frequency. For example, $300 per week for a General-Purpose card that uses the relevant Spend Category. Note that if the Attendees function is enabled, it is also possible to specify the amount per person.Â
The policy works alongside the limitation of the General-Purpose card. The main difference between the two is the action taken. While an attempt to transact beyond a card's limitation may result in a 'hard' decline (for example, if the card is limited to $100 per week, the user has already spent $95 and attempts to pay $10 with the card, it will be declined), violating the policy results in an 'alert' (i.e., flagging the anomaly as 'out-of-policy'), but the payment will not be declined.Â
Notes:
- This feature needs to be enabled by Mesh. Please contact our team for more details.
- The feature will be further developed with a goal in mind to offer a more comprehensive Policy Engine.Â
