Expense delegates are users authorized to view, add, and edit expenses on behalf of specific users they are assigned to. For example, a CEO may have a Personal Assistant (PA) who manages expenses on their behalf in the Mesh platform.
Follow the steps below to provide expense delegate permissions to a PA. Â
1. Log into the Mesh app as a strong user (e.g., a user with an Admin profile).
2. Navigate to the 'Employees' page. Â
3. Locate the user you want to assign a PA to and click on their profile.
Note: Any user, regardless of profile, can be an expense delegate for another user. For example, a user with an 'Employee' profile can be the expense delegate of a user with an 'Admin' profile.
4. Add Expense Delegates.
4.1 Click the pencil to edit
4.2 Select users from the drop down menu
4.3 Click Save to store you selection.Â
5. In the above example, Steve Austin is the PA of Norm Klien, the CEO.Â
5.1 Steve Austin, the PA, can submit expenses on behalf of Norm Klien. Â
5.2 Steve Austin, the PA, can manage Norm Klien's expenses. Â
5.3 Steve Austin, the PA, can view cards and transactions that are assigned to Norm Klien.
5.4 Steve Austin, the PA, can upload a receipt, add a spend category and type a memo to Norm Klien's transactions.Â
Notes:
- The permissions of an Expense Delegate differ from those of a T&E Delegate. Expense Delegates can handle expenses only for the users they are associated with, but they also automatically receive viewing permissions.
- A user may have several Expense Delegates.
- Expense Delegates can not handle trips requests. Such functionality will be added in the future. Â
