A CEO or other executive may have a Personal Assistant (PA) who manages their travel and expense (T&E) activities. The Mesh platform enables organizations to grant Delegate Permissions to a PA, allowing them to act on behalf of the user they support.
How to grant Delegate Permissions to a PA?Â
Follow the steps below to assign expense delegate permissions to a PA:
1. Log into the Mesh app as a strong user (e.g., Admin).
2. Navigate to the 'Employees' page. Â
3. Locate the user (e.g., Norm Klien) to whom you want to assign a PA (e.g., Steve Austin) and click their profile. In most of the cases, the PA will have an Employee profile on the Mesh platfrom.Â
4. Scroll down to find the Delegate permissions, and click Edit.
4.1 Select users from the drop-down menu.
4.2 Click Save to store your selection.Â
4.3 The user Steve Austin is a PA with Delegate Permissions to act on behalf of Norm Klien.

What can a PA with Delegate Permissions do in the Mesh platfrom when acting on behalf of another user ?Â
Reminder: Steve Austin, the PA to Norm Klein, the CEO, is authorized to act on his behalf and perform the following actions:Â
1. Submit expenses. Â
2. Manage expenses. Â
3. View budgets/cards and transactions.
4. Upload receipts, add a spend categories, and type in memos.Â
5. Manage trip-related tasks including:
5.2 Select trip options, track the approval process, and communicate with approvers.
5.3 Add supporting information (e.g., receipts, memos, spend categories) to trip transactions.
5.4 Add out-of-pocket expense requests related to the trip.
5.5 Closing the trip by submitting all related expenses.
5.6 View the trip's request history.
5.7 Generate and export trip reports.

Notes:
- An executive, may have several PAs, each with Delegate Permissions, to perform the above.
- A PA with Delegate Permissions differ from those of a T&E Delegate. A user with Delegate Permissions can handle the above only for the users they are associated with while a T&E Delegate can submit expenses on behalf of others.Â
