Mesh allows travelers to change the booking method after submitting a trip request form, providing the flexibility to reduce friction and enhance productivity.
Travelers submitting a trip request form can choose from three booking methods: 'Book on Your Own' (Direct), 'Contact Travel Agent' (Travel Management Company), and 'Search' (Online Booking Tool). If a traveler opts to receive offers from a travel agent, the agent will send options to the traveler, who can select one of the presented options or change the booking method.
To change the booking method, travelers can click the 'book on your own' link for flights, hotels, or both. If the link is clicked, the user interface will present the change, and the platform will inform the agent of this decision.
Notes:
- The original proposed flight options are still presented.
- The traveler may select other options (e.g., hotel), and the platform will inform the agent that booking is needed for those sections.
Agents receive a message informing them of the traveler's intent, allowing them to offer alternatives for the traveler's consideration.
Travelers may select the alternative or ignore it and proceed with 'booking on their own' for that section. The same applies to others involved in the approval process (e.g., travel manager or finance person). The image below shows an additional option provided by the agent. If travelers do not select this option, the agent will be unable to book it, and travelers will receive the necessary budget to book on their own.
