A trip can be in one of the following statuses: planned, in progress, canceled, ended, or closed.
Within the Mesh platform, the status is used for tracking and reporting purposes, enabling Travel Managers and Administrators to complete various tasks related to approvals and introducing changes.
A trip that has 'ended' marks the physical conclusion of travel, meaning that the travel dates have passed. When a trip ends, the virtual cards associated with this trip expire and cannot be used. However, users can still submit receipts and memos, as well as handle categorizations and submit reimbursement requests related to that trip.
A 'closed' trip indicates that all trip-related details and financial documentation, including receipts, memos, and categorizations have been completed by the traveler. While ending the trip is a function of time, users are asked to submit their trip expenses or 'close the trip' when it ends. Once the platform marks the trip as a trip is closed, users cannot perform any of the mentioned tasks, including submitting reimbursement requests. Power users (i.e., Admin, Pro, or Auditor) can reopen the trip to allow users to complete missing information.Β
