The Mesh platform attempts to match the spend category with the transaction's MCC (Merchant Category Code). If a match is found, the transaction is automatically categorized. Users with Admin or Pro profiles, as well as employees with Travel Manager permissions, can create the travel expense policies that are used by the platform for the mentioned match.

In some cases, the platform cannot find a match between the spend category and the transaction's MCC. As a result, the spend category is not populated automatically, and users need to categorize the transactions themselves.
